Poor Radio Signal
« on: 10 July 2011, 17:58 »
Hy guys, im wondering if anyone can help me. I live in the west country and get very poor signal on some radio stations, mainly Radio 1 and Kiss. I have a decent headunit in the car and have put in the signal booster thing where it connects into the back of the headunit. Im still getting bad signal though. Is there anything else I can try that doesnt involve getting a new HU? Some radios are perfect its just the decent ones have very bad reception. Thanks

Have you tried replacing the aerial?

I had this problem on my old Mk3.

I ended up tracing the ariel cable and found it was damaged and also poorly connected.

fixed the damage and sorted out the connection..then went a bit mad with electricians tape to make sure it didn't budge.

Was spot on after that!

I would take it as advice and not listen to Kiss!

Thanks guys. The reason I believe it is not the aerial is because the radio I had in before this one worked fine. Any suggestions?
