Front camber adjustment

I had the driveshafts out today and had the bolts connecting the front suspension strut to the hub out.

I have read that the bolt holes are elongated to adjust camber, but im having trouble adjusting it correctly

at the moment its got waaay too much camber, i've read of people running full camber but on mines its causing it to follow dips in the road and if i steer tight it will carry on steering rather than returning to centre.

So what method do you guys use to get it about right? and the same amount both sides

this is how it is atm  :grin: looks cool but drives horrible, which is weird as i thought camber on front was supposed to aid handling/turn in

Just get a full tracking / camber check done.

Negative camber is bad for straight line  :laugh: It's only good in the bends. As the car rolls in the corner the tyre will become flat with the road giving more grip.

For better turn in, you want, toe out. Nothing to do with camber.


Just set one side till it looks right, then take measurements from wherever you can, and do the opposite side.

You can get the camber roughly correct..

Just a little negative camber from dead straight upright.



To get it so you don't get any uneven tyre wear your best bet it to get the tracking and camber setup properly.

For now, it'd be safer to set the camber to default unless you want to spend out on new tyres.

You slacken the two bolts that connects the hub to the strut, then you pull on the hub until it's straight. Tighten the bolt.

Safer than that until you can get it properly checked!

By pulling the wheel / hub out to its fullest extent you'll actually add positive camber to it,  even with it lowered (which adds negative) my wheels still kicked out at the top like a Citroën 2CV and drove crap.

Yeah, don't pull it all the way out! Just try and straighten it a bit.
