soaked floor

I knew my missing scuttle panel tray is missing causing a bit of a drip on my passenger footwell, but I've just removed my carpets to find my passenger footwell with a small puddle, but the rear passenger footwell is beyond soaked. The carpet and soundproofing is literally dripping. I've hung them on the washing line to dry out but I want to know why the rear passenger footwell is so wet. My floorpan is mint so no rust or holes, any ideas?

Have you driven uphill?

If so thats why the rear footwell has water in it.

When I had the Mk2, I had a persistent leak coming in from the cabin air intake. It was dripping down from the scuttle panel directly down the heater motor and into the passenger footwell.

If that is the case, then remove the mesh cover in the scuttle tray ( it is held by a sliding clip on the side nearest the wing ) and put a bead of silicone around the base.  This will stop water getting in through the blower.

Yup I had done that, but it was dripping directly above the mesh, not through the sides.

We sealed around the blower motor as Elvi said.
Adi popped round ysterday and i knocked him a temporary rain tray/scuttle for the n/s of the vents in the bonnet to combat rain just falling straight into the top of the blower motor.
I do believe he has all his carpets back in now,so i think it must have cured it. :cool:
