Apart from you have no active crossover when done like that :wink:
If it was me i would not upgrade the rear ones. Im not going to. :smiley:

Thanks Snoops for all your help in clarifying many of the aspects which will also prove helpful to others in the decision making process. Yes, the Dynaudio IS good value for money.

I'll catch-up with Steve30 one day and properly compare our systems with some of my Classical Music CDs. Will be an interesting exercise.

What size are the standard bass-mid speakers in the GTI, please?

170 mm (6.5") diameter? 70 mm depth?
What's the impedence? 4 ohms or 2 ohms?

I might also look at some SEAS and/or Scanspeak units (thanks Snoops!) and possibly design a bi-amp passive X-over. Nice little project to keep me out of mischief.

I have a history with rainbow, I was nearly their UK importer at one point but a friend beat me to it.
4 ohm is normally standard for Car audio but i would not worry about it. The difference between 4 ohm and 8 ohm is often a couple of dB lower if anything.

Seem just the ticket for the Golf. Would only fit front ones if I went for them.
