Let u know what he says when I call up in a while :smug:

Right then quick update....

Had wheels off and found both brake hoses seemed untwisted and ok, rang the tester  up who says it was catching on full lock, so will re visit that...

Had rear wheel off, binding issue, big hammer and some spray works initially, soon as u put the brakes on back it lock up... Does this point to something on the caliper not releasing at it should, re place caliper????

The welding is right on the jacking point about size if a house brick, rest seems solid he says, so some good news then  going to get him to give it a good once over, I want the underside to be solid for years to come...any tips and costs???

Should be back Friday ready for re test Saturday.... Gunna have a years M.O.T soon.... :smug:

Just get a new caliper from GSF: Dont forget to take the old one with you, as they surcharge you otherwise, like with alternators.

I had the same a few MOT's ago.  Pick Up Spares wanted roughly the same price for a used one as a new one.

Now intead of my calipers sticking, my fecking break cables stick in the cold weather. FFS!

Well happy
Everything sorted off failure list including replacing knackered caliper welding work etc....for the tidy sum of £100

Asked him about rest of underneath and he said he has never seen one so good absolutely solid, even original wax oil was coming out whilst doing repair, done a real tidy job so I am well happy..
Back to testing station tomorrow to stick one up him  that will keep him quiet....12 months ticket in the morning...Happy days are back again, just road tax and insurance now
