Alarm going off again.....and again......and again.....

HI folks....

Ok looked at lots of feeds about this and have checked a few things out before postin this....

Alarm going off randomly usually about 2am but sometimes as soon as you have locked the car(after 30 secs or so)

Checked Rear wiper water connection and thats all dry and dandy (Wiper and washer works fine). Boot light doesn't work due to not having a bulb possibly and wandering if the bulb might have been removed due to a previous problem...anyhow...Have noticed in the paper work that the 'boot latch' was replaced just before i got the car but the alarm wasn't a prob for about 3 months until now.

My thinkin is that it's something to do with the alarm thinkin the boots not closed as the panel gaps not quite right when the bootlid is closed but put this down to the new latch maybe not being fitted quite right. (nothing on dash telling me boot is open when locked or otherwise either)

where exactly is the switch/pin that tells the alarm the boot is closed or not?

Where would you guys start looking and what would you do?

Me and my friend and my couson had the same kind of problem ,it would go of about 1-2 in the morning ,my friend turned his off only to find his sounds had been robbed ,the next morning . My couson turn his off ,and found his mk2 escort gone in the morning (it was found burnt out). I just turned mine off and reset it , its a bloody piss take if you have work the next day, having to keep going out side to turn it off and check it .BLOODY PIKES

a common trick, thieves set the alarm off and the owner turns it off completely, pretty simple.

put a bulb in the boot light and see if it goes off when the boots shut, easy way to check the switch is working

You have to turn it off to get some sleep, if you have work.. best mod is tinted window, that stops them, but you will get a broken window and a door half pulled down at the top.. I thought a truck got stuck on my door and half pulled it off. The window still stayed in place , but it was broke. cu!ts

I had a similar problem VAG COM says its the internal motion sensors, of which there are 2 they are stupidly expensive to replace !!

So i decided not to i basically disarm them, when you lock the car click the key fob twice it locks the car arms the alarm but turns off the internal sensors but still leaves the alarm still armed.

I had the same problem but also when driving the clocks would come up with "Luggage Compartment" message every now & then,

If you take off the rear hatch panel (2 Scres in the handle parts & Pull hard) Then look for 3 brown wires that go to the boot handle, You could try unplugging that so the car thinks the boot is closed, But on the down side it wont unlock the boot by the remote now
