in the morning cold starting
« on: 05 September 2010, 08:31 »
i find in the morning sometimes when i try start my vr6 i get the clocks reseting and flashing like theres not enough power

sometimes after work it happens, but not as much as in the morning, when its cold

the battery has one of them lights on it,and it says fully charged

could the battery be messed up,or the starter trying to take more power then thats needed

Sounds weird, but have you got any corrosion build up on the battery terminals?
Mine did and I was getting intermitant current.

Check the connections to and from the starter,
If the problem still occurs borrow a battery to see if the battery is just reading wrongly?

I had a very similar problem recently, after a new battery was put on it was discovered that the negative terminal wasnt clamping properly, as in it was on there as tight as, but could spin freely.

clocks reset, radio reset, most times id come to start it. and would sometimes act as if the battery was dead. New battery for nothing basicaly.
