Cheers guys, I will wait and have a look!

I do plan a lot of engine modifications, this isn't just for show/banter, it's a legitimate stage I will be taking to improve engine performance in the near future.

work out what everything you plan to do is going to cost you, then consider how much you can pick up a tdi lump from a mk4 for.. and keep in mind a pd130 diesel can go to 180bhp with software mods.

From what I've heard the MK4s require a lot of work to drop into a MK3.

It's not so much performance though, I appreciate peoples advice but it's more for me to learn about tuning TDI's than getting huge performance. I'm happy just using the 1Z TDI engine, it's fun enough and will do me for this year.  Got to start somewhere.

The point is that it is not a easy engine to tune and even with loads of work and money I think you would lucky to see 120 to 130bhp out of it.

Ahhh come on Wayne, your posts are getting stupid now.

The 1Z TDI is easily tuned, you can get 120bhp with just new nozzles and a remap.

Stop posting about stuff you know nothing about.

Work with diesels everyday plus when I worked on Vw's we did some work on the 90bhp engine and it did not respond well to tuning.
