Door Components and Vibrations
« on: 13 September 2010, 20:19 »
I'm currently running some Vibe Black Air 6's and getting a really bad rattle.

They're fitted in the door cards atm which I'm assuming is the problem. Looking around on here its advised to fit them to the metal instead.

How would this be done?
Surely then the door cards would get in the way?!
Would this not cause more of a vibration over the whole door panel?!

Thanks

ive fitted some 6s in my clio and when i removed the door cards there was a hole in the metal waiting for speakers, also had the wiring waiting for speakers, all i had to do was cut a hole in cards so the speakers could show through and would not touch the sides of the cards whilst playing music. i still get some mad rattle but if its loud enough  you cant hear it lol.
i managed to break one or two of the plastic retaining clips and he back side fell into the door housing so thats where my rattle is from :S lol
also some broken glass in there..... :D hope it helps,

First take door cards off and check inside door and the door card itself for loose objects!
Found a few quid in a set I bought!
Then refit fully and properly ensuring all clips/studs etc. are sound.

Then if it still rattles then make up some brackets to fix the speaker to the door metal.

I run bass speakers in my front doors with no special fixings.
