Does this look familiar! And rough idle
« on: 11 September 2010, 20:55 »

Changed the upper breather pipe on my latest golf today, then found another hose split, it's the one behind the dipstick that goes onto the bottom of the inlet manifold. I've repaired that too now, but the car doesn't idle too well, it ticks over but every few seconds it's like it misses on 1 cylinder, any ideas?? It drives fine.
It's a 1.8t AUQ btw.

AUG? Anyways you need it on VAG COM mate, you can do a misfire count to see if it really is missing

Edited that to AUQ, I've checked for faults with vagcom and there's none stored

Mine does that for the first 100 yards then is ok....its like one of the plugs isnt firing.....Dont think VAG COM can tell if its the plug.....it can only tell if the coil is naff.....Have you disturbed the coils at all, if so they might need to be pushed back on to the plugs

I changed the same pipe on friday still didnt run right so had another look arround saw that the bottom of the dip stick had snapped all the way arround so replaced it and put it on the 1535 at vw and it said that the fuel mix was lean so re set it and heypresto all sorted and feels faster now!!
