*URGENT* help needed
« on: 02 September 2010, 18:34 »
hi all, ive got a bora tdi 130 that has a very confusing overheating issue, basically i can drive it for a while and sit in traffic and its fine but then when at a constant speed the temp will shoot up to 130ish, ive checked the w/pump which is new, its had a new stat and been pressure tested to the point it was left on for an hour and the cap has been pressure tested and both are fine, ive also flushed the cooling system too and all the people ive spoke to including vw cant figure it out, if ANY of you have any ideas then please let me no.

many thanks adam

If it hit 130 - your HG is a goner.

Sounds more like your temp. sensor is reading wrong.

oil temp is good, heaters dont really change much until the air-con fan is on and ive done a block test on it and no gasses in the coolant, if it was HG then i would pressurise pretty much straight away as any hg failure does but this doesnt and like i say vw and my local specialist are having trouble working the issue out
