Sliding pins in brake calipers...
« on: 09 July 2010, 15:29 »
I'm looking at some G60 calipers to upgrade a 16v brake setup, but the guy said they have no sliding pins. He said he thinks that the pins are the same on all or most Girling calipers, can anyone confirm this? Would I be able to use the pins off of 8v or 16v GTI calipers??

if you have a 256mm brake setup now the pins from them should work in the 280mm carriers :)

failing that I think you can get new ones from ford, I'll see if i can dig out the infos

edit: here we go, ford rear slider pin but fit front vag carriers apparently. (wont fit vag rears as too long)
F6141154 (pack of 2) £8.00 + vat roughly

You are a God!! Haha the guy told me I could get them new from Biggred (or something) for about £20. Those Ford ones definitely fit then??
