K04-001 help
« on: 21 May 2010, 16:18 »
ive herd about this turbo through a friend but i wanted to double check with you guys, basicly wanna know if i buy this K04-001 will i need to do anything else mod wise for it to run right. i know if i want to get full potential out of it then i'd need 4 bar fpr, fmic, 007p, bigger fuel injecters and so on. but if the turbo went on with no other mods to start with (its a standard AGU) apart from TIP due to being bigger would it run ok and if i got it mapped would it see k03s figures?? im just asking as i want a bigger turbo but would rather shell out abit more for the k04-001 than the k03s as will give more power in the long run.

really apreciate any advise on this one.

heres a link for the turbo http://xs-power.com/turbos-10.htm

First off, thats not a genuine turbo. You will want to get a Borg worner genuine turbo.

Ideally if you fit the turbo then you will want a map on your car for it to run right as its bigger than the stock item. Your better off get the turbo, FMIC, 007p, TIP, fpr, fuel pump and remap all done at the same time.

yes the k04 001 is a bolt on replacement but really it is just a k03s in a k04 shell..... imo its not a proper k04

an to what you want power wise would depend on what else you would need to buy!

ive just done a full proper k04 upgrade an i can tell u it has cost me a small fortune!

Watch out there are a few that have the wrong size inlet, so the ko3 tip won't fit unless ur cut the end off and fit a new end etc , can't remeber the sizes but there's a thread on seatcupra.net
