You need to pack better mate, I have two kids in the back with an isofix fitting stage 0 rear facing baby seat, misses in front, buggy, travel cot, all bags for 5 people in the boot. The Golf is a family hatchback after all....

Find it too tight. I have 2 kids(using boosters), but if we take out one of their friends, the wife has to go in the back and place the 3rd booster in the front, not that my son complains! Also consider the space you'll need in the boot for pushchairs/prams, but you can always fit a roofbox  Also consider that for those long trips, you can hire a diesel MPV relatively cheap and save money on fuel.
Life is not a rehearsal, live it.

I agree - I have 2 children and find the Golf to be a perfect size for a family of 4.
With a family of 5 though, I woudl want something a little bigger.

Sorry I wasn't clear, I have two kids (11 and 9) and a six month old baby in the back.  My 11 year old doesn;t need the booster now, it would be a squeeze with two boosters and a baby seat but we have done it comfortably (baby seat in middle at back).
