Best ask billy-vw!  he does stuff like that for me!  :grin:

The way he does it is to try and get some kind of connector on and joint them as best as possible.
If you dont have enough good wire to do that then I guess you will have to twist em together and tape.

yes i would cut the bad bits out of the way, crimp the ends, then crimp in a new bit of wire.

Should not use tape really, it may work but is very very bad practice and should only be temporary.

The wires arnt split its like they have been pulld and just a piece of wire is showing other than that they look fine ill be on me car all day tomoro outside anyway so ill get too it and get sum photos to put up to show people hopefully haha

yeh, so the insulation is broke or come away, and you are left with the bare copper wire. as i said you can tape it, but i would only use it as a temporary measure, and fix it as soon as i could. if the tape breaks or comes away, and the copper comes into contact with the body or other cables it could fry your circuits or worse.
