I don't understand VW's pricing on the new GTI.  It's cheaper to manufacture yet more expensive to buy.

It's fairly obvious:

low cost + high price = mega profits.

The mk6 is all about profits.

Yeah, they want to claw back as much money with the MK6 as the MK5 was costing them too much to manufacture.

Totally agree with all these comments. I have seen a nice MK6 GTI where I live. I just think how crazy the guy is paying so much money for a GTI. Dont even get me started on the price of the MK6 Golf R.....Ill be keeping my R32  :smiley:

Take a look on the Volkswagen website at the used GTi's and sort it most expensive first. I think the first 2-3 pages are all Mk6 GTi's and the cheapest is about £27k !!!!!
