AGU Manifold
« on: 03 September 2009, 19:45 »
The husband of one of my colleagues has very kindly welded my old manifold up, & I was wondering if any of you guys fancy a crack at swapping it for the duff one currently on my car, please?  (I need saving from the works R reg. Escort van, lol!).  :D

One's enough thanks! :D

This thing is a proper death-trap!  I think the front & rear halves must be held together with a bit of catering foil & chewing gum, or something!  :undecided:

p.s.  I've now had my OE cat/system put back on the car, because of the split sports cat issue - Will that map you put on the other week be doing any harm to the cat/anything else?  :undecided:

the cat might get a bit hot, ecu will pull the power if egt's get too high but a spec 1 will probably suit it better

Drive it normal you will be ok, ie short blats of power flicking up the gear box. If your pulling from 2500rpm to 6500rpm in very gear and holding full load then your going to get really high egts, the knock control will save the engine from pre det, but not melt down.   The ko3s map runs rich at the top end of the rev range no matter what, this is to help to keep things cooler.

Cheers, Toph/Nick. :afro:

I only really drive flat out in 2nd/3rd/4th to a max. of 5.5k revs these days, so hopefully I won't melt anything, lol. :)
