radiator help needed.....please
« on: 25 August 2009, 12:53 »
I need to replace the temp sensor on my radiator and was wondering where
to get one from online...

is it called the radiator temp sensor or something else?   :lipsrsealed:

Its a 1.8 mk3 golf..it has 3 pins

If somebody could give me a link to one would be great  :)

GSF or Euro car parts should be able to supply one.

it's called the fan switch. It's what turns the fan on when temperature reaches 94C I think.

GSF do them as wayne said.

until i get this sorted is it safe just to stick the fan on a switch so the car
does not overheat and i can turn the fan on manually?

You can run a live lead from the battery positve terminal to a switch and then from the switch to the fast fan pin in the fan.

Then turn it on if your temp starts to go above normal.

Paul

PS Make sure you use suitable sized wire and switch.

can i bridge the connections on the radiator plug and leave them bridged so the fan will
come on automatically with the ignition?

that's it.

Don't bother having a manual fan switch, why? just means you have to do it manually........Just get a new switch and then it will do it automatically spot on
