Wiper stalk - MFA - faulty

Im guessing this is the problem - would be nice if others can confirm

intermitent fault.

Wipers only work of super fast and MFA not working.
Wipers does not work on normal speed
Then it may work for 30 seconds 

Im guessing the stalk needs changing.
Mines a 94/M non airbag model, are the stalks different on airbag models?

Mine did that , Took it apart cleaned the contacts , job sorted , no need for expensive VAG parts a bit of wet and dry sorted mine.

Have exactly the same problem on my mk3 (again) - wipers only work on superfast & slow. Happened about a year ago, cleaned up the contacts & seemed to work fine again. Gonna try this again see how it goes. With mine, I know the problem's back when the wipers fail to return to fully down & off position.

i removed my wheel and a few other bits and took of my wiper stalk off and cleaned it, it still did not work prop so am going to replace it! going to try and get a 2nd hand one and go from there.
