Idle problems...

Have noticed a barely noticeable lump in the idling on my mk5 gti, used to get it in the mk4 also, hard to explain, like an almost unnoticeable shake, can only really feel it through the drivers seat when stationary... Is this normal? Ta!

Is it like a very (very very) small jolt that you feel through your backside through the seat? Almost as if the engine is coughing ever so slightly? If so, mine does that sometimes but it is hardly noticeable.

My old Passat used to do that to, and my Fabia before that.

I wouldn't think it's anything to worry about.

Yeah, pretty close, just now and again, not all the time. Though it was missing slightly?

Have noticed this for the past wee while in my Ed30 (dsg). Sitting with it in D it doesn't do it (i'm assuming the clutch being enagaged at some level is cancelling it out), however if you knock it into P or N and sit idle on tick over it does it. Whether it be from a cold start, after hooning, regular driving, even giving a wee tap of the throttle doesn't affect.

My friends Bora TDI had a misfire issue and it was a fairly noticable shudder whereas this is like a wee gust of wind catching the car sort of feeling.

I have this as well, very slight and the revs dont twitch at all.  I think its normal, there was a discussion about this a while ago and most people were reporting the same thing...

Just start sh*tting yourself if the revs move up and down..... like mine  :embarassed:
