yes... erm... don't know what advice you have been getting and reading but someone wants you to expend more effort than you need to!!
SRP isn't a product that remains on the car, it is a polish, that is all, it scarifies the top layer and removes impurities... if you need to be doing this twice then the product really isn't very good at all.
wrt the wax... use as many coats as you like.. but you do have to buff each coat off before you apply the second coat. you will find buffing easier if you apply the product only a couple of panels at a time and not allowing the wax to 'cake' on. ideally you will be giving the applied wax time to cure after buffing, an hour or so minimum, 24 ideally.
remember wax is a sacrificial layer, the more you have on the better protected your shine will be. 3 coats is a good figure. wax your wheels too to prevent brake dust adhering to the alloy.
