Safe mode
« on: 28 June 2009, 18:13 »
After reading a couple of posts i believe my car is in safe mode and only revving to 5000rpm . It has always done this while i have owned the car and i just thought it was the limiter , Could anyone tell me what may of caused this to happen and how i would go about sorting it .

It is because the timing is out, basically the cambelt hasnt been put on properly. Take it to a garage asap, as its not good. But if its been like that for a while, it will be fine. But just get the timing checked and done properly, but a propper garage, not a cowboy.

Definetly. Cambelts are not that expensive. So might as well just stick a new belt on it at the same time. Wouldnt hurt.
