ABF vaccum leak
« on: 26 June 2009, 19:23 »
The vac hose that comes off the inlet manifold in the pic below is leaking a bit. Hopefully I'll get a chance to sort it tomorrow...

2 things though.....

I remember reading somewhere that a vac hose on either the ABF or KR has to be a certain exact length and that you can't chop a bit off the end to fix a proplem like mine. Please tell me that's not this hose....

Also... where does this pipe go anyway? and what are the likely effects of it leaking a bit?

Thanks!

Well if it's leaking it needs replacing, so why not chop a little bit off?

No it doesn't need to be an exact length but tbh its better to replace.....as said use some 3mm id, get it from ebay, i brought some from a company called zenna racing when i had my old valver.

This hose leads to the ecu and can cause idling/stalling issues if its faulty.

While your at it you might aswell replace all the other vac hoses around the engine as they will all start to be breaking down.
