ABS Query
« on: 05 June 2009, 13:06 »
I'm a bit bemused with my ABS light atm. It doesnt come on when you turn the egnition, but the airbag light does. All the fuses are present and good. I vag comd it, it seen the abs controller and reported no errors. took the panel off the warning lights and there were not cut wires, and for some reason i carnt get in to replace the bulb (or check it?). Any ideas?

Are you referring to your 1.4 Golf? If so, it shouldn't have ABS :undecided:

Oh fair enough, lol

People often take off the front cover of the ABS/airbag light panel and put a piece of black tape over where the ABS light shines through?

If not, it could be the bulb, try getting another ABS/airbag light panel from a scrappy?

You probably could change the bulb if you're an expert with a soldering iron lol.. I took mine apart and found that the bulbs are all soldered in so I just got another panel from the scrappy instead.. I guess if they're soldered in, then people can't remove them when they're permanently on due to a fault..
