indicator fault
« on: 19 May 2009, 21:29 »
i have noticed that when my car is running the small green indicator light is dimly lit, it is on all the time, the indicators work fine and the light also flashes nice and bright when indicators are used, just wondered if there was a common fault or if i had a light that was back feeding?? if so how would i find the fault?
many thanks

will

sorry should have mentioned it's an 86' mk 2 gti

Usually its a sign of a loose/faulty hazards switch - or a blown indicator fuse.

Or old crappy alarm wiring.

cheers ben, will check hazard switch, like i say the indicators work fine so couldn't be a fuse, i've just had a spurious alarm removed and a thatcham cat 1 alarm and imobiliser fitted and it's no different.
i'll look tomoz when i get my car back from paintshop
