Yes - that's the 8V GTI motor.  Yours may well be a PB code motor, or it might be from either an earlier GTI, or an Audi of some description.

one of tha massive bounuses about working on and converting vw's is the amount of stuff thats interchaneable.   and stuff dosent tend to change fitment for the fun of it
