right it an 51 plate 5 door black no alloys i will take pics b4 i start sorting it out
but on way home i noticed once i was on motorway( test drive was in area cld only get to 60 ish) around 70 plus when you put the foot down as i did to overtake it stutters like mad now i remember readin about a gti 1.8t that had same prob i think it the maf sensor? would my guess b right? or sh*te? how much fix? can i do it myself?
plus once got home checked under bonnet and there oil comming out from what lookes like a oil filter holder(not seen this b4) at front of engine with a torque setting marked on it for when it re titghened?
will get a manual soon as but is it something to b worried about ? (desciption aint the best but too dark for photos)
cheers

that is the oil filter at the front of the engine.
would the car pull above 70? try unplugging the maf and seeing if it improves

un plug it? i know what the prob might b but knowing which part it is and whre to find it (i guess next to air filter) but what it look like hmm i do a search for a pic and see if i can find it tommorow. (yeah it pulls but it like it choking and kicking so not a smooth speed increase)
if it does improve is it a grage job? or can it be a simple swap part?
well good news on the filter then as that easy cheap fix( slight weight off shoulder)

oil filter is a 30 second job
look at the airbox and your see a pipe coming off it going to the engine, in the middle of the pipe is the maf sensor, your be able to see the plug on it.
easy to fit a new on and couple clips
