Yeah it was.
I managed to wrangle getting a few scuffed bits of trim replaced, some scratches to the body work sorted out (sadly I missed a few of them

), a full tank of fuel, a replacement set of mats and the bottle opener. All this was done at the negotiating stage. I was told that the standard was to supply the car with a half tank of fuel...
How much warranty are you getting? How old is the car?
Check the rear high level brake light and if you see the slightest hint of moisture / condensation get it sorted. It will eventually fail and will cost in the region of £400 to replace. Check for a strange noise when turning at low speed. A whirr from the motor is normal, a creak isn't. Common fault and means a new steering rack. Check for white worm on the boot handle if its the old style one and on the hub caps / monza II's if applicable. Don't be shy in the warranty period

Mods wise I'm not the best to ask - mine's bog standard. There are plenty here to lead you astray in that dept

You'll enjoy this after the mk4. I had a 1.8T which was standard and although I love the extra power I have now, its really the handling and steering that always amazes. The noise is a big improvement too! Have fun
