Well i've cured it but not sure which part i fitted has done the job.
The car came with a Chrome air filter but to fit it someone had cut the end off of the MAF so i paid a visit to the scrappy and bought a standard air box and another MAF, acquired a few No. 30 relays and fitted all at the same time, also fitted a new fuel filter as according to some of the receipts that came with the car it had an oil & filter change and new set of plugs just before i got it but no other parts so for the sake of £10 i fitted 1.
Drove the car tonight and its all good.
