Kenwood DNX-5220
« on: 01 March 2009, 15:57 »
Well, I've been having a play in Halfords (the only place around here that does this type of thing! :( )

AB'd the Pioneer F900BT against this.

The only thing against the Pioneer was that it was V1 OS, so SLOWWWWWW.

However, the Kenwood was pretty impressive actually. Uses Garmin SatNav too.

Really vivid screen in comparison to the Pioneer too. Despite being up at £880 (compared to the £700-odd for the Pioneer), I've found it for the same price as the F700 (no DVD)..... however this also has DVD playback....

Any comments?

Dan :)

that is damn cheap as that is actually the manufacturers trade price plus vat
grab it whilst you can they had obviously a lot of stock before the trade price increases took place last week
all the major manufacturers have increased their trade prices for example kenwood have increased by 20% and alpine and pioneer around 30%

i would be very wary of any company advertising it at such a low price
a few companies advertise items at stupidly low prices but when it comes to ordering they inform you that they do not have it in stock and attempt to sell you a more expensive item

Yeh, these two units are getting some interesting reviews on AV forums.

The Kenwood is very +ve.

The Pioneer, not so. However, I think that most are in regard to the dodgy V1 firmware, not V2.

I'm still leaning towards the Pioneer, purely because it's so easy to use (for Wifey!)
