16v braking issues

I have a 96 2.0 16v, when I apply the brakes I get a noise that sounds similar to a playing card in the spokes of a push bike, the pedal firms up, and really bad vibrations back through the pedal, this has actually started happening when im not applying the brakes as well, which is wierd, I recently replaced o/s abs sensor which didnt fix it altough when the abs sensors are disconected the problem went  any help would be muchly appreciated

its obviously an abs fault. get in on a computer and see if anything shows up.

as above just get it plugged in dont waist any time on replacing parts that may not even need doing in the first place.

it will also read all your fault codes and tell you if theres a problem with anything else.

GSF charged me £10.00 to jack mine into the matrix and it came up x2 rear abs rings faulty. replaced and all is now fine.

yeah it sounds like the abs is pulsing (working even without the brakes applied..this would normally mean a duff sensor!or two). time for vag-com and see what codes show up

altough when the abs sensors are disconected

before you have it tested make sure you connect what ever you disconnected is re-connected as this would be a waist of time other wise

rather than wasting time/money plugging it into a computer to determine whether or not it's the abs, pull the abs fuse and try it to see if it still does it.

could well be a warped disc.
