KR cams?
« on: 03 February 2009, 01:45 »
I was chating to my mate and he said i could get more power out of my 1800 kr if i put 2 exhaust cams in it, i have another cam but he said there was an issue with setting the new cam up, aparently a vernier pully isnt enough, does anybody know of this mod? any detailes would be greatly appreciated!

yes the end sprocket needs taking off and a new keyway cut, for all the effort & costs a decent set of aftermarket cams could be purchased though, or maybe even a set of ABF cams.  The abf cams are generally regarded as 'better' but it depends who you ask, some prefer the curve on the krs :)

yeah there was a guy on cgti that did em for a while (hotgolf) but the cams are so hard it kept killing his grinding bit/tool/whatever he used to make the keyway so he stopped doing em in the end.

when you said about power curves, i would like a bit more bollocks low down cos pulling away the car tends to shudder a little bit when your trying to pull up a incline, my streets full of old people so i do like to keep the revs down when leaving, id also like a bit more top range and a fair bit more mid range and id be happy, will cams sort this out for me? im not after massive power, just want to make it a bit more user freindly cos it is quite hard work driving a standard 1800 attached to the bulbus lump that is a corrado!
