Can I butt in? Would the 1.9D crank fit into the 2.0l ABF/9A/6A to bring it up to 2.1?

would go  but would have to be carefull with ABF,  as if useing stock ecu cranck needs toothed wheel,

when adding 95.5mm crancks depending on block machene work is required to clearance round the cranck, tall blocks should be ok.
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Ah, so that's why you don't see many folk with 2.1 ABF's then ;)

i remember all these type of questions about 1800 CVH from sierra

took my 1 year of messing around with differant cranks and rod's

then it blew up threw a rod , and some one told my to take a 2.0 zetec and stick a 1.6CVH head on it and WOOP WOOP off we went with 350BHP

i would say if you are determind to do it , then have a go , but if your not that bothered i would just buy an ABF and stick that in

I just like asking questions that's all - my mind is a sponge for knowledge.

When the time comes, I'll have one bad ass ABF ;)
