Google was my friend, judging from the prices in euros, base car with the performance pack and allowing a bit more for Tornado Red (a must in my view), looking around £52k. I suspect deals might be tricky too unless they don't sell.

Best advice I’d give having run DSG mk8’s and now an 8.5 for damn near 5 years (Tempus fugit) is leave everything in factory settings. Leave auto hold on as it’s seamless and both you and the vehicle will learn each other. And leave the gear nugget alone when sat at traffic lights. It’s all electronic and if the auto hold engages it’ll stop pulling and power down in stop start mode quite promptly.

As for tyre pressures, I’d say drop them a bit from factory recommended to improve both comfort and tyre wear but it’ll take a bit of experimentation both front and rear.

I've also just taken ownership of a Mk8.5, never having had a GTi or DSG before, and am finding it to be a great balance between comfort and sportiness.

I was interested to read comments on tyre pressures.  I have 19s and my sticker says 2.7 bar (39 psi), which I thought was high compared to previously owned cars.  The previous fastidious owner had them at 2.4, so I might drop them a bit.  The ride is fine at 2.7 in comfort mode; my main concern is even tread wear.

I thought they felt better at the final bit of pedal travel but that could just be because they were new - certainly not worse - I did it mainly for the low dust but now I've read about ceramic pads then they do seem a good option over the standard - main are Ate pads.

I did want to take the discs so I could give the hub/calliper/splash plate a good clean plus touch-up any corrosion but with the weather changing I probably will do the quickest option just to make then look slightly better.
