Note, corrected due to clutch drag (not slip)

Nice Danny. But...
... I get confused, when people generally say I have ***BHP now do they talk about at the fly wheel or wheels? What do the manufacturers normally quote, fly wheel or wheels?

I always thought it was usually quoted as at the flywheel?

This makes me want ABF even more btw

yikes! the transmission loses 39%!!

That print out i sent you states that i have 31.8% transmission loss, wouldn't say 39% is too bad for 4wd compared to that?

i didnt think it would be that much

the graphs you sent me for the 1.8 only had 25% loss, did you have flat tyres when you got the 2.0 done

Would a fast road clutch bring down the transmission loss?

This was running standard management out of the Toledo, not Megasquirt.

The only non-OEM thing that's been fitted to it is a home-built tubular manifold - necessary because it's fitted to a Syncro, not a 2WD.  Obviously no cat, as it doesn't need one.

What I want to know is where the guys who are running ABFs on K-Jet hiding their missing 20+ bhp?

I guess an ABF on K-Jet is great....... if you're looking to remove a lot of the engine's potential.

7 down hactually, with the kjet having more power up to about 5.5k, then dannys rising above  only 3 down on torque as well

Oh and the clutch is fine.  It's DRAG, not SLIP.

The drag is where it doesn't release quite as quickly as it should do and the transmission losses are calculated at the point that drive is released.

This is why the rolling road operator adjusted it down from 179bhp for the drag on the release.

You'll see that my Syncro also has substantial transmission losses, same road, same operator, from a couple of months back:

I tend to forget about the losses as it sticks to the road/track like a limpet, whatever the weather (much like Danny's).

How does 156bhp vs 173bhp = 7bhp?

Danny's did about 40mpg from Dover back to Ross, too.  You see that often?

Yawn.

You could just whip them out and see who's is biggest?? It would save me the trouble of scanning through yet another "why K-Jet is sh!t" or why "ABF is awesome" post.

Theres no right way, just your own way.

Yes, it is fair.

Yours is 'standard', this is 'standard'.

Thing is, if it was K-jet then this might have run lean, after all, it was just wheeled in there, not prepped and ponced about with........ but then EFi will do everything possible to prevent the engine running lean - hence the fueling on this was right all the way through the rev range, as it was managed by the ECU - there's no need for all this faffing around 'setting up' - it sets itself.

Anything else to declare on your mate's motor?  Or is it standard?

nope, standard. just a bit of allen key wiggling. you just have to do it manually on kjet

its not fair because, yes they are both standard, but ones running right and ones running wrong.

chill the f**k out mate, i like kjet, you dont, there isnt a great deal of difference. deal with it

Anyway,   i'm quite chuffed with that for a baseline, now to start thinking about getting more      the clutch dragging is a bit anoying  but that would explain why sometimes it feels a bit off, but that can get left till it gives up or the engine or box come out for some reason or other.

i'm thinking a bit of headwork next   may treat it to a pannel filter if one pops up to see if it makes any differance.   then the TB's can come out
