Best bang for buck has to be a remap, transforms the car and show you what it should be like.

standard shmandard

MFD2 (or if you can get them for the money rns510) unless you've already got?

A nice upgrade and OEM.

For me it would be a remap, no brainer really. Id also try and get someone to colour code me up although it might take you over budget getting both done.

bear this in mind, if you go for a remap, then expect to pay the rest in insurance premium increase of a minimum of £150-£200 on top. Also expect for your £500 you will end up with around only 30bhp extra only.

Me personally, id have a milltek cat back system which wont effect your policy( in most cases) as it wont increase your horsepower but sound 100 times better  . Or if you have dsg, if you have paddleshifters on the wheel, get some aftermarket carbon fibre or stainless extentions for around £150 with your change from the Milltek.

Or if you dont have a sat nav, like has been said go the whole hog and get the mfd3 510 touchscreen Nav. Will add a few quid on part ex when you come to chop her in later

@neg hey mate a remap sounds good since that day you gave me a ride in your gti

i would of remapped my GTI along time ago but because im 23 and have 9 points my insurance company just laughed at me wanting to make the car even more powerfull then they gave me the price which was around an extra £500 a year!!

@neo66 well im at uni full time plus do a full time night job, last night was 4*c! it makes me realise how precious money is.

well i was thinking something for the interior like a multifunction ed30 steering wheel but i dont have the highline display so does this matter? also id buy the handbrake and gearstick to get that new feeling back as mine are fairly worn down..

@phil i did have the rns touch screen when it first came out i got it off ebay for £1000 but just didnt get the most out it, just played my mp3s on it so i sold it on.. milltek sounds cool, gotta quote for £400 from roadrunner, notts some time ago ill have a look see if its gone down in price.

If I were you - I'd spend £750 on women and booze, then I'd fritter away the other £50

If you can't get a remap/upgrades/rns-510, then I'd say save the money and put it towards something else.

If I were in your shoes, I'd get a VAGCOM since you don't have Highline computer. Great to know what's causing a fault and allows you to change settings. Dunno what else you have but if you don't have Xenons, go for some better bulbs. Get an arm rest, cruise control and parking sensors if none are fitted. Would also consider a Road angel/pogo if you've had problems with speeding.

If you like music, upgrade the speakers and get an amp and a sub.

Otherwise save the money and go on holiday when you graduate as a reward. Somewhere like the Caribbean., all-inclusive etc.

Hey Laser!

I'd go for the Milltek too, or maybe a second set of alloys?

Well im considering the milltek cat-back still not sure yet....

Lowering the suspension was another idea, ill get more results that way in terms of driver enjoyment..
maybe save up some cash and buy the full milltek later.
