Does anybody have any pictures of LED rear lights? Preferably these ones:
By the way, if anyone could photoshop those onto a grey mk5 I would appreciate it .
-
Not keen on those, have you checked out the OEM LED rears available? RebRobin has some on his, look miles better IMO.
-
oem here i will check my library for them i have seen a couple.

Not a fan of RedRobin's tbh. The red and white doesn't do it for me and I think the black will suit my car.

....I think those black ones you're interested in would suit either a black or a grey car very well. They look much more obviously aftermarket though - Not a problem and ETTO.

[Now, where's my 'Ignore this member' button?]
-
I wouldnt do it, i much prefer the edition 30/ r32 ones
-
ouldnt do of, much prefer the edition 30/ r32 ones
LOL, you would never guess your using your iPhone to post tonight 182_blue  , with my sausage like fingers I don't even try to post from mine anymore :embarassed:
Anyway back to topic, I think either the LED's like TC & RR or the ED30/R32 are the only one's that look right to me.
However ETTO but it would be good to see a pic of these on the car though
-
my iphone does that all the time
-
Lol ,lm sure it changes the posts after I post it
-
and i bet its almost dead as they eat the battery big time

Jimp don't do it ! those lights are a bit "fast and furious, 10 second mile like"
If you do go LED go OEM .
but whatever you like :)

They are? I don't think so, but might just be an ETTO situation. Personally I really like the look of black rear lights on a grey car. Sage green is basically grey, only a tad different .
-
iPhone's eh, been looking at the new Samsung i900 (not on o2) which looks pretty good.
Whoops, slightly off topic
-
Dude show us a pic of your car ! do not think i have ever seen a Sage green Gti, must be rare !

Sorry to dissapoint but it's not a GTI, just a 1.4 . But I love her so .
Here are 2 pictures from the day I bought it:

Nice and clean, even if the last owner left the brake discs a bit scummy . You can kinda see how the sage green colour is different from grey since the light is pretty bright in places.
-
dont do it they look way too much Max Flower ,
unless of course that is your thing!
for stylishly subtle go Ed30/R32, for more bling and function go OEM LED
but ETTO of course

....I'm glad you said for more function!
They look less bling in real life but they are much 'louder' visually than stock.

I can totally see the visual improvement of the LEDs over the standard ones and the Ed30, However I am not convinced the mickey mouse pair pictured above would be such a good safety improvement!
-
Ok what does ETTO mean??

Each To Their Own

The improved light up time and brightness is the main reason I'm looking into LED rear lights. My dad showed me a safety report by I think BMW with reaction times and visibility where the LED rear lights were shown to be both birghter and faster, leading to quicker response times from the driver behind seeing them. That got me interested in them, so I'm looking for a pair that I think would also look good.
-
Ok what does ETTO mean??
....Each To Their Own - As in each to their own individual taste, or lack of it! Whichever matches your opinion. It respects the very different and sometimes opposite likings of others.
:afro:
-
No wonder it's not in my Oxford dictionary!
Many thanks for that explaination.

....That's mostly why I did the same! Especially after a large lorry came rather close because he didn't see my indicator blinking while my brake light was on as I waited to turn right.
For the same safety reasoning you might like these Hella LED Daylight Running Lights : -

DRLs will be compulsary soon!

The new headlights I'm going to get will have some . It's the same headlight unit that Hurdy has.

....I suppose that's one way of looking at it! I think that I'm lucky to have Xenons. But I understand what you mean.

I actually like them, and they are also "E" marked, so legal too.
Now what would they look like on the R-send of a Reflex Silver . . . .

....Hi buddy! :afro:
This forum is particularly good for GTI discussions - Much more active than TSN's GTI forum.
Thanks for the compliment - Always appreciated
I'm sure we can help with any of your questions.

For anyone interested, I saw a silver mk5 with these LED rear lights from awesome:
It looked mint. Very cool with the colour coded rear bumper . The light from the LEDs really stood out too. I was very impressed. It wouldn't suit sage green, but deffo works for silver .
