Title: Bright Blue Metallic
Post by: logeyboy on 10 September 2008, 16:21: I inherited my parents 1989 8V Bright Blue Metallic Gti recently. When they originally bought it, they were told that only 500 of these were made.

I have since seen somewhere that only 275 were made in 1989?

Does anyone know about either figure?

Ive read that only 500 were made in this colour. GTi 8v's and G60's

Probably even less. I say about 250 have survived if only 500 were made. All guesstimates :laugh:

Yes this is what I thought. Question is - Is 500 a UK figure or worldwide? I would guess that less than 1 in 10 has survived. :smiley:

Jade green? I had three of the damn things - couldn't get away from the colour. I think apart from yours mate they've all faded away...

Would love to get one in this colour myself.

thats the colour which is best for the mk2 golf. lol (colour of mine)

Maybe, but the drivers I have seen have been a slightly lighter colour. Its very rare & called Pasanda Blue I think. Paint code for bright blue met LP5U but I cant rememeber the one for the drivers I have seen. :undecided:
