For such a small item I personally wouldn't claim as it might increase your premium next year. I can't imagine the lower grill will cost too much and it depends how bad the scratch is. Chips Away quoted me £190 to fix a huge scrape off my bumper.

....And also you'd probably find that you'd be paying for it directly anyway through your Excess - You pay the first £££ of any claim.

£9.02 retail from your stealer for the lower grill - p/n 1K0 853 677 B 9B9.  Give 'em the part number, ask nicely for a bit of discount, and £8.12 should see you OK.

The lower grille just pulls off, though the clips can be effing tight, and fiddly - even more so when a pheasant smashes it into ikkle pieces!

If you need to know more on how to remove the grille and bumper, look in this thread: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=54324

Yup.  We often slate the main stealers, but regarding their parts prices, they are often very competative.

Just ask RedRobin how much he paid for his long tool extra long alloy wheel change assistant from Awesome!  OK, I'll spill the beenz - £14 from Awesome, genuine retail price from the main dealer = £3.69 (plus the chancellors share).  An amazing, but certainly not awesome mark-up for an identical part!

....^True. I didn't even know that the dealers sold them. I've seen quite a few instances unfortunately where Awesome are being greedy with their prices. Still, it doesn't matter - The important thing is that I've got a long tool - An awesome long tool even. It costs a lot of money to look this cheap!
