Title: which unit plays mp3s?
Post by: LaserBlue on 08 May 2008, 17:13: there are various cd/radio units for the mk5 golf

the one i had with my car was a normal cd/radio but didnt play mps3

i have the dvd satnav at the moment that dont play mps but has the aux on the back....

anyway im looking on selling my dvd satnav only 2months old never used and getting the mp3 player version?

Post by: NewGolf on 08 May 2008, 17:16: I believe the RCD300 and RCD500 do, but only the newer ones that have "MP3" written on the front by the cd slot. I have the RCD300 and it does play them and show all the song details on the screen. I think the new ones have silver knobs.

how much do you think my dvd satnav is worth?

there is a few on ebay for over Ã‚£500 with v3 map disc

the v4 disc is the latest version but only things updated are in europe so guess there aint no BIG difference.

I have a rcd500 that doesn't have the logo and can't play mp3s.

so how many cd units have vw produce? kinda stupid dont you think? you can even play mps3 in a citroen c1 :shocked:

think post november 2007 units do MP3'S, As said above it has MP3 written on the slot where you put the CD

rcd 500 is a 6 disc unit, i have mine upstairs :smiley:

easiest way is the load button on the top left of the rcd500 i guess (the rcd 300 doesnt have it), and 500 has 10 buttons on the bottom, 300 has 8

Post by: orca on 08 May 2008, 22:43: does anyone know if the rcd300 cd changer can play mp3 CDs? Ive got the rcd300 that can play mp3s but I've got the iPod prep in the arm rest. Was thinking about getting it changed to a cd changer (if possible) but only if it supports mp3 CDs. Cheers.
