I enjoyed it. I like projects where people actually get stuff done on the car not buy a mint one and add chav bits on (not saying anyone here does that but just in general and more aimed at my mates!)

that looks sweet mate, what engine is it?

that looks sweet mate, what engine is it?
When i started the restoration i wanted to do it how Ford 'should' of done it back in the 80's..... Standard looking but with something spicey underneath.
Shes running a mildly tuned 1.6 cvh S1 Rs Turbo lump, currently at 193bhp and around 205lbft torque
Its not about the power its about the car and the looks she gets and the memories she stirs up in people..... 23 years old this year

hi mate. i have a bit of a soft spot for the blue oval. the cab looks bang on. top job

IIRC Jeza (Robs bro) still has his Golf!
He's not Robs bro but yeah does still have the golf and he's spent god knows how much tuning the 8v engine to 16v power
So are you planning a similar attack on the golf as you did the cabbie

Oh right..... all those years of thinking he was.....
Erm.... no lol... Just a bit of a sleeper, i'm aiming on getting a 1.8T 180bhp so that should be ok for 5 minutes, then i may start to have a fiddle but nothing compared to the cabbie + she's locked away while the weather is pants.
So you still live around this way then? See anything of Rob or Jeramy?
-
I'm still in the same place, Jel lives in Orpington but Rob vanished shortly after the last time he went a bit er.... :undecided: :lipsrsealed: (probs best not to discuss this online, when you've got 10 posts we can PM )
-
Still in the same place? Where was that then? lol
Yeah i know what you mean about Rob, I had to live with it!
Have you seem him since?
-
lol, chislehurst
Been there, done that, know a couple of others too so between us we could probably write a book
Not seen him for about 3-4 years now, last I saw him he was fresh out of hospital (3rd time i think) with god knows how many bottles of pills :lipsrsealed: I hope he's doing ok
