Im thinking about getting my side skirts and rear bumper painted.
But dunno what color? same as the car or metallic black?
I was thinking paint the upper bit of the rear bumper same as the car and the lower bit black metallic maybe?
What do you think?
-
side skirts colour of car, upper part of rear bumper colour of car, bottom part black metallic.
White std gti round these parts has it, looks brilliant. (Could do with paint the front lip of the front bumper black metallic to complete the 2 tone-ish theme mind you)

Wondering the same myself LaserBlue.
Going on a date tomorrow with a girl who's dad owns a bodyshop so hoping she'll get me a cheap price and good job if things go well
How easy is it for the bodyshop to get rid of the texture that our black parts have?
-
If I remember rightly, the bodyshop that did mine used a plasticide primer to coat the texture........
Good luck with the date  could save you a fortune LOL

Thanks

There are £5 from the stealers mate
-
are they?
my alloys are genuine audi s3s.. ive been told there center caps are 61mm and dip in the center, the guy at vw said he dont think any vw alloys have similar center caps that will fit.
only way i can buy them is to get some aftermarket plain ones or stick a vw badge over it
-
Dont do it,looks far better standard imo.

Yes. You can buy an Audi part through VW dealers (and vice versa) or atleast you should be able to. I can with my local dealer. You can also, if you wanted, get your car serviced by Audi and vice versa. Or atleast you can with my local Audi/VW (dealer but most people choose not to).

hey there
got a white gti. was thinkin of paintin my skirts and bumper. anyone know any where in northwest where u can get it done or how much it may cost? any pics as well ?

Just a note - consider getting the R32 skirts if your going to paint the sides, easier as they will be new and they are smooth and come primed ready for paint.
I paid £200 for the sides painted and fitted and the finish was much better than the original GTI sides which were painted when I bought the car.
-
I paid £450 to have my sides, front, back and wing mirror housing all colourcoded.
-
I must admit I'm thinking of doing the same on my red GTI. However it does look really good as it is though.
-
I'm waiting for my quote to come through. I've also bought an edition30 rear valance so it should look awesome. I popped in vw on my way back from the bodyshop to see how much primed r32 skirts are and i almost fell over when he said £350 with a bit of discount.
Its seems the work is all in flattening the texture, a number of processes it seems
I'm hoping for £450 as the max the quote comes in at but the guy is awesome so expect to pay for the quality.

How much! I got primed R32 skirts from vagparts (wanted then delivering) for just under £70...

No direct link, call them and they will add an item in the 'custom orders via email' section of the internet shop
