Whats your budget?
If yours is like mine you will need to get some pods as my standard speakers/pod were an all in one unit. Not expensive though.

If you like clarity you should also think about amping them.

Correct
how would he be able to do that then.
In mine the standards speakers were built into the pod. if you mount the speakers straight into the sheet behind the door card, depending on the size of the magnet, the window may hit it on the way down.

I meant correct, as in yes you need the adaptor to fit market speakers :)

ay they are rivted; need to remove the metal panel i believe; best off trying to do it yourself or take your car to an ICE specialist

It probably sounds farty because your headunit is running out of puff.
With £70 to play with, I'd invest in a good 2-channel amp, and use it to power the front speakers. 90% of what people hear as distortion is produced by the source, and not the speakers - speakers distorting make a completely different sound when they hit their mechanical limit.

Just drill the rivets out then use a nut n bolt to fix your new pod in place.
No need to remove metal panel as you fit pod into pannel then speaker into pod.

Go for components if you can afford, they sound sweet, and amp if possible. Don't rule out second hand if the budget is tight, I got a set of Kenwood componets unused and still in the box with a kenwood amp for £50. Need to check for sale sections of forums
