Title: First steps to unlocking performance
Post by: drivebycar on 30 January 2008, 17:20
so obviously full exhaust system and panel filter/drilled airbox is a good place to start, but whats the next logical step from there?

Simplest.... to be honest, buy the next model up  costs alot to upgrade a 8v to 16v, 16v to 1.8T etc etc. If you can afford to modify it's probably cheaper to buy!

My Fast road cam goes in on the 15th

have fun

Nah i want to stick with the 8v just because im not gonna be ragging it all the time and nice to have low down torque just for normal driving etc. Newman cams are quite good i hear?

under drive pulleys. and ignitiong timing and higher octane fuel can help and and as much as 5-8 ponies and a full tune up with adjustments, putting a colder thermostat can do some good also. Spark plugs, If it's possible to index the pugs you might or might not notice a difference. But and non conservitve adjustment, remember bigger is not always better.

save weight.
eat less and go to the bog before you get in, only ever have £5 worth of fuel in the tank and a half full washer bottle
