Right ive got the cash for a new grill or black grill badge (obviously less than a grill) and im not sure which looks better. My car isnt slammed (yet) so dont know if the debadged grill will look any good. If i got the debaged id proberly get a grill spoiler aswell :undecided:
Just thought id see what people prefer tbh
Heres some photoshopped pics of my car anywho of how i think it will look :undecided:

ooops if a modorator stubles in here i forgot to add a poll for the two options :embarassed: could you possibly add one for me?
Cheers

Personally i would just have the black badge as imo quad lights look better and you can save yourself a few quid as well
Whilst your there if you have not already done it since the pic in your sig you can adjust the rear wiper so it lays flat across the screen then use a mk3 rear wiper arm to get it even flatter on the screen

I have done the wiper thing but didnt know you could fit an mk3 wiper. Is it a straight fit or is there bodge modding required?
heres a more upto date pic

So i could get one of the mk3 wipers like this one (my mates golf) and it would fit?

Yep its a staight fit, no modding required

Thanks mate  going to order a black front badge from ebay today aswell
-
Good choice!
When I bought my MK2 Driver it had the GTi front grille with silver badge, I've bought the black badge and looks ace with the quad lamps, so much so that my mate is also getting one for his MK3 GTi (the 2.8L beast! ogles ) when it gets back from the repair garage.
I was thinking of eventually going for a debadged quad lamp GTi grille - if such exists? and if not, why not?!

de badged quads are avalible

im not so keen on those tbh :undecided:
won my black badge on ebay tonight. Was £4.99 buy it now with £1.99 postage :smug:
thinking on getting a 4 light grill spoiler :undecided: not sure yet

Quads with a badge is my liking, but my car is keeping the standard ish look. once its on the floor running 14" alloys single wiper and the rest of it, the single headlight grill seems to work well... just dont stick jetta headlamps on it
heres my quad to inspire, with blac badge and non uprated candles

that looks well smart, ive got some red trim i might put on my grill, not sure how well it would go with the blue though.
What front indicators are they? Are the smoked or crystals? :embarassed:
Cheers

cyrstals, i got a brand new VAG quad grill with red trim. lying around waiting to be fitted. ill probably sell my current grille then even though its in pretty good nick. i noticed on ebay you can pattern grills for around £20 with the red trim but have been told the finish isnt as good as VAG. just checked your photoshoped pics, maybe you should back to black the bumpers, i found it makes a hell of a difference to the look

ahh thanks  i like crystals
ive back to blacked half the car but got bored :embarassed: and then the weathers been too cold/damp lately and it keeps washing off for some reason

Back To Black is poo! Get some Kiwi shoe cream on your trim. This stuff goes on like paint in minutes and survives several washes. Also costs bugger all

Forget back to black, get yourself down to morrisons supermarket and buy some of there black shoe polish, its about 90p and is in a grey tub with a sponge lid, use some of that on the bumpers and it lasts much longer, you will probably need 2 coats though at least looking at your bumpers to really bring out the colour
-
I tried kiwi trinned shoe polish but it just went grey  going to tesco tomorrow so will look for the cream stuff
Is it called Kiwi shoe cream?
Cheers

Think so, it's in a smallish bottle with a foam aplicator and you dab it on. You will probably need two looking at your bumpers and then buff up with a cloth. The best thing about it is it stay's on for ages. I will never buy expensive bumper stuff ever again!!

i used to love debadged grills but now i think i like the quad light grill just as much. Get a GTI one with the red stripe round the outside and get crystal headlights and inner lights and bobs ur uncle!
-
Well not got a GTi grill or any crystals yet but did finish my bumpers
(http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l96/Dec_012/DSC00326.jpg)
Also in my project thread
I really like crystals so will defo be getting some after xmas :)
-
Get a GTi grill dude.
I bough a singlelight grill and really disliked it after a while. Put my standard GTi grill on now and I like it more. Another thing mostcheap single light grills are crap. I'v ehad min about 6 months and when ireplaced it today i's knackered. In the bin it goes.
Also flashing people(for giving way) is better with 4 lights
-
Yep! deffinately get a GTI grille. I think it's all about the red tripe imo.
-
If you get a debadged grille DEFINETLY get an eyebrow spoiler, it looks so much better.
I really dont like the quad debadged grilles - i'm guessing since they're quite rare thats a popular opinion!
I sprayed up all my bumpers with black bumper paint that cost very little from Halfords, doesnt wash off either. Although obviously you've gotta spend a bit of time masking it off etc, even better if you remove the bumpers
here's my old golf with debadged grille and eyebrow spoiler - looked ace

(I have a GTi with quad grille now, I like it a lot more- I think it varies from car to car which looks better really)
