Title: ED30 Main Dealer Delivery Times
Post by: Mad_Monk on 17 September 2007, 12:29
Just wondered if anyone who has or had ordered an ED30 from a main dealer had to wait longer than what they were quoted. I was quoted 12 weeks, which makes my car 5 weeks away now. Im already fed up of waiting and I guess I am just looking for reassurance that it wont be delayed.

I was told anything from 12 to 16 weeks and have still not been told an actual delivery date.  I ordered in June and the wait is now beginning to get to me.

At least I still have the S3 to drive round in till I get the ED 30

That is the one plus I am holding on to at the moment

I said to myself early on that I wasn't going to let the wait get to me but the closer it is getting the worse it is becoming.  And I should try and not read this forum as those that have theirs already make me  with envy.

Still my time will come  :smug:

Fed up now, beyond belief.

Just phoned the dealership and been told I have a build date. Hooray i hear you cry, however the date i have been given is the 22nd October and they have told me its 8 to 12 from this date. My understanding through all of this was that it was 8 to 12 weeks from the date of order.

Totally fed up now. This mean it will be a wait of nearly 6 months

that is quite excessive, have you a particular spec in mind? 'cos there seem to be a number of nearly new ED30's for sale at the moment, there is a nice grey, DSG on ebay for 21,900(ish), and a fella on here selling his for 21,500 (silver, manual with 5k) its also on ebay.!

Its crazy if you ask me. All I have asked for is a White One with iPod and Multi Function Stearing Wheel, hardly high spec.

I cant understand why its takes 8 to 12 weeks to build

You may have just missed the white colour run :undecided:
You may have just missed an ED30 spec production run :undecided:

Colours tend to be done in batches, but 8-12 weeks just for the build still seems a lot

just wondering how long everyone else have had to wait once they had been confirmed a build date

Week 7 build and week 13 delivery. That 5 weeks was also at the time that most car manufacturers were having difficulty in getting their cars through customs smoothly.

So maybe VW are over estimating just incase there is a problem. Fingers crossed it only takes 5 weeks to build

Mine is being traded this week or next  - no reason other than fiance's car is getting past it's best, so is being traded along with the Edition 30 for a high spec 3.2 Mk2 TT Quattro in RS4 Sprint Blue. If her car was fine, there's no way the Edition 30 would be getting traded

Have been given an excellent trade in figure for the Edition 30...nearly 90% of the cost after 6 months (depreciation always hits nearly new cars :( )

Spec has helped as well - candy white, xenons, ipod, parking sensors...I get the feeling it won't hang around for long at the dealer :)

Sell it private? Get more in your own hands...... 90% pretty good they must be wanting to shift the TT then........

Shame its gotta go. Tell the fiance to get her act in order and do as she is told. OR the weddings off

heheheh

I get the feeling that the VW sister garage of the Audi garage probably have a willing buyer lined up, hence the better trade in offer

TT is very high spec - not the actual car (another one earlier this year at same dealer), but looks virtually the same

I like the TT very much and would have had one. BUT I took my son to look at one and I had to nearly slot him into the back (he is only 6).

Nice colour manual or DSG? Post some pics when you get it.
