Title: chipping 8v gti whats good n not good

what chip is recomended and where to buy from
hes not after a track car
just wanting better throttle responce and running

The most regularly used chips are the remapped air/fuel chips that come up on Ebay all the time for about Ã‚£25 or so. You might get a bit of improvement with one of them but nothing earth shattering with a standard set up thats for sure.

That unichip looks really good!
But Ã‚£400! 10x as much as a blitzchip!
But you can do so much more with it :shocked:

I bought one from HigherPeaks... it does improve throttle response and accelleration (especially bottom/mid range) BUT it caused pinking (even after being properly set-up as per rubjonnie's guide) which has since vanished after removing it. i guess the old girl didnt like being overworked!
