Will be picking it up in September... at last, a Mk5 owner again. :laugh:
To top it all, as the car had arrived earlier than expected, I got the dealer to give me free Autoglym Lifeshine, GAP Insurance and £200 off - I had to really twist their arm to get the last bit :cool: Otherwise it would have sat on their forecourt until Octber 14th :grin: :grin: :grin: £850 in all - not bad...

I will probably take off the Pescaras and get 19" BBS rims - not sure which ones... I'll keep the Pescaras for shows - to keep the car original. Stonechip protection is the first thing that will go on... and I'll get it revo'd after 10k miles which should take me too long to do. I was going to hold out until the warranty expired but I can't wait for 3 years. Thinking about the Forge Diverter Valve but I have heard the Ed30 one is just as good. I might get it dynmatted as the 19" rims will increase road noise - it will add weight to the car but hey, who cares when its turning out 300+bhp :evil: Thats about it really... Like to keep my cars original

I know... :angry: its been done several times now including on autotrader... just getting tired of it.
And thats another 'mod' going onto my Edition 30 - the number plate 'E30 VW' (should actually read E3 0VW). But this time I'll wait till Feb 08 and bask in the glory of a new reg... :rolleyes:

Black is not only the safe colour, it is also the best. White may look amazing, but its not safe - on the gti, you would cause too many accidents and it increases your chances of having one as well!!! :wink:

I know, I know, white Ed30 is so good looking that it causes accidents. I have to live in the shadow of it's beauty, but I am managing it so far. One should not blame beauty, I mean, tall, long-legged, well-shaped, looong-dark-haired young women in short skirts probably cause more accidents, but would you forbid them walking around the streets? of course not! If anything, you would want to see more of these women around! :smiley:

:cry: looks really nice. I was worried that I might go off it at some point and be stuck with it but every time I saw a white GTI, I thought 'I really should have chosen white... black is so common...'
Then yesterday I saw another white GTI and thought, 'damn, that looks really nasty...' and so my love affair with white lasted about 7 weeks (since I saw that white GTI and that crazy W12 GTI at GTI International) and I'm glad I listened to my head that told me 'this new preference for white won't last' and not my heart which said' get on that bl00dy phone and ring the stealer right NOW'. Sorry pesharik et al but black really is best. :grin:

Welcome fellow brotherin!! You've chosen the right colour don't worry. I bet the last edition 30 you had is still ringing in your mind - just remember how stunning that looked! Although white looks the biz in gtis, it is the same colour as most (if not all) transits on the road today. Imagine if someone called your car a transit!! :grin: :wink:
No offence to anyone with white gtis though, as i have said before, the shape and design of the gti allows it to look mean in any colour.

Black is better,infact any car with paint is worth more :evil: :wink:. Because ask any dealer ,white cars have a much poorer resale value, dealers dont offer you as good a trade in, and thats a fact, but doesnt take away from the fact it looks good.

Resale value on white cars is rock bottom.
White paint is pain in the bum because every little scratch is visible.
Looks like transit?? If you look around for new car ads - Porsche, MB, Saab... - cars are in white.
I did not go with my head, I went with my heart. My head told me "black". But the sense of style prevailed. :smiley:

White GTI looks nasty, due to black plastic parts sticking out like on a transport van.
Not so with Ed30.

Em, isn't really a case of getting the colour that you like most, rather than worrying about what other people think looks best..? I got an Ed30 for myself, not for anyone esle..
