What cars have people had over the years? Here's a full list of mine....
2002
1. Red Nissan Micra, 62k, L Reg, 1994 :embarassed: :embarassed: :embarassed: we all have to start somewhere
2004
2. Navy Blue Mk3 Golf GTI 8v 91k, P Reg 1996 - not that much better than the Micra overall
2005
3. Purple Mk3 Golf GTI 8v 140k, J Reg, 1992
4. Tornado Red Mk2 Golf GTI 16v 54k, J Reg 1991 - thats when I saw the light
5. Oak Green Mk2 Golf GTI 16v Campaign 143k, E Reg 1987
6. Black Subaru Impreza STI Import 72k km, L Reg 1993
7. Lhasa Green Mk1 Golf GTI Campaign 170k, A Reg 1983 (Danny Smith’s old car A264 BUF, photos of which can be seen in the gallery section of the Oxford Edition website – 1991 GTI International photos)
8. Mulberry Purple Mk3 Golf VR6 Highline 72k, P Reg 1997
9. Black Mk1 Golf GTI 74k, Y Reg 1983
10. Tornado Red Mk2 Golf GTI 8v 92k, J Reg 1992
2006
11. Tornado Red Mk2 Golf G60 Syncro, H Reg 1991
12. Mystic Blue Mk3 Golf GTI 8v 143k, K Reg 1992
13. Diamond Silver Mk1 Golf GTI Campaign 62k, A Reg 1983
14. Helios Blue Mk2 Golf GTI 8v 39k, F Reg – sold to Noddy and Susan who also have that low mileage Helios Blue Mk1 with 16k on the clock.
15. Diamond Black Mk5 Golf GTI, 06 Reg 2006
16. Reflex Silver Mk4 Golf GTI 1.8T Y Reg 2001 – my wife’s car, nice cruiser but handles like cr8p, just as a Mk4 GTI should.
17. Pearl Blue Mk5 Golf R32, 56 Reg, 2006
18. Swartz Blue Mk2 16v Golf GTI 86k, J Reg, 1991
19. Swartz Blue Mk2 16v Golf GTI 80k, J Reg, 1991
20. Atlas Grey Mk2 16v Golf GTI 67k, H Reg, 1991
2007
21. Oak Green Mk2 16v Golf GTI 80k, H Reg, 1991
22. Oak Green Mk2 16v Golf GTI 79k J Reg, 1991
23. Diamond Black Mk5 GTI Edition 30, 07 Reg, 2007 – on the way in 2 weeks
Current Line Up - which I don't intend to change as I have finally settled on what I want - although I am after a mint low mileage 3-door Mk2 16v with less than 45k miles
Mk1 Diamond Silver Golf GTI Campaign 63k with 1 previous owner
Mk2 Oak Green 3 door Golf GTI 16v 79k
Mk5 R32 - gone within a week though to be replaced with Edition 30
As you can see I went a bit crazy in 2005/2006 but I had to drive and own as many examples as possible to see what a good one was like. Regretted selling a few of them and that Tornado Red low mileage Mk2 16v was a beauty...

I was going to list mine...... but after reading your list it's just not worth doing!
Your wife must love you!!
-
My wife is  and tired of it    but so am I after going through so many cars... I was worried that the DVLA may flag me and ask if I was trading or something... although I could have proved to them that I was making a loss overall - probably lost about 1k overall which isn't bad. That of course does not include the loss on the daily drivers like my Mk5 R32 and 06 GTI and first couple of cars that were daily drivers.
-
I get grief over my VW type 2! I guess the fact its taking up half of the garage doesn't help. When I suggested keeping my MK3 GTI as a run around to keep the miles off the E30..... well her face was a picture  So... anyone want a MK3 Gti!?!?
-

Spooky, I once drove my 127 from Tyneside to London to watch a Spurs game with the engine/gearbox tied in with an old washing line - the engine mounting had gone and every time I changed gear, the throttle would open wide due to the engine/gearbox moving. Character forming but I'm glad I've moved on since then !

yes, my engine was sat on the steering rack on the engine bay bulkhead, i couldnt change gear cus it had dropped about 6 inches down the floor pan!! oh the good old days. My windscreen wipers ripped clean off the windscreen scuttle panel .(A particular weak rusting spot on the 127) dueing a heavy downpoor in the New forest near where i live, i had to ditch the car and walk nearly 3 miles to the nearest call box!! (mobile phones where unheard of!) As you may remember the old fiats best mate was Uncle GROT BOX!!
