No the iPod dock is a separate optional extra, but comes with an armrest, at £265.

Where as armrest on its own is £115

Im really thinking about having the Ipod dock and armrest added to mine now (if i still can change my order that is)

  tell me about it!

As for the ipod connectivity, it is £265, and it does come with armrest, cup holders (for rear) and rear air vents.  I believe if you got the ipod connection on its own, it would be in the glove box and wouldn't be as good a finish.  Correct me if i'm wrong though.

Hi fellas
ordered my new babe back in November 2006  about 1st I reckon, from Hayseldens at Doncaster. Gone with Tornado red, 5 door ( I like the accessability - daughter 6' 1" her boyfriend 6' 2" ) easy to get em in the back. Manual with Lux pack 1, centre arm rest and having the mp3 fitting as a retro fit due to problem with ipod connection at VW. If you have ordered yours with ipod connection get in touch with your dealer and sort something out. Told by my dealer that build week 4 ( last week in January ) is for my car, I think it will arrive some time in February, so I will be putting her on the road 1/3/2007   or near enough that time if no probs.

FAO wantmygti     Hi, I ordered my edition 30 ages ago, with Lux pack 1 and the centre armrest with the mp3 connection. A few weeks after ordering the car my dealer rang me asked to pop in as there is a problem for UK cars with the mp3 fitting . I called in to see him a few weeks ago, just as he was on line ordering my car from VW. He told me that the problem is only with the UK spec car, you cannot now specify the centre armrest with the mp3 connection. My man at the dealer has a mate who is an auto electrician, he rang his mate, the guy told him that he could retro fit me an mp3 connection 100%  no problem so thats how I'm getting mine fitted, as I have loaded up my Zen, ready for the March lift off  if you have one on your spec sheet I suggest that you go see your dealer and sort it out, any probs come back to me.

Would they do the std 18" Monza's any cheaper? (ie. was it more 'cos you wanted the black ones?)

Why did we get the BBS anyway, rather than the black Monza's? You'd have thought we'd all get the same wheels, surely it's easier for them to do that?

Worth every penny.

For some reason they look bigger than the 18" BBS's.... perhaps it's because the whole black wheel/tyre combi looks bigger than silver/black.

Woops guys - posted this on the old thread (what a muppet) anyhow it's on twice now !!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ordered mine last November.

Red - then Grey - then Red again - then Grey again then finally Black (what a mess I was in).
Xenons
Rear tints
DVD with Ipod
MFSW
Lux Pk 1

Ordered from Gilbert Lawton (Nr Manchester)
NO DISCOUNT

Fair trade in on my existing Mk5 GTI

Never been disapointed with the current car apart from those rusty wheel hubs and a few trim niggles here and there.
Looking forward to seeing the build quility on the ED30 (my current car was one of the first GTI's in the UK - it was good but I like perfect !).

Isn't this year going slow !!!!!!!

I agree - it would look great on candy white - but it's silver!

Don't think they would look very good on a hard to keep clean black car though!.

Barlimow - The black 'rockingham' wheels are the same price as the standard 18" monzas - and i agree - i cannot understand why the Germans have a choice and we don't???? :undecided: :undecided:

All the German cars that are for sale at present have the CH style rims, and from what I can gather (my German is not that good) from the German forums there is some sort of delay with the Black Monza's?

Have you got yours yet Ollie?

LOL, sorry, I was thinking about someone else's car in their sig that is Candy White :embarassed: . Potentially ordering silver myself, so I do agree they'd go well with silver as well  (sig looks great!)

Cheers for the info re the wheels - presume the price is just for the wheels, not tyres? Trying to work out what the net cost would be to buying the Monza's and selling the Pescara (?) wheels.

My thoughts were that the tyres are the same size so no additional cost to change wheels - such as 19"ers would pose. I would assume that knowing the rockingham and monza wheels are the same price that the pescaras would also be the same.
My intention is that i will get the dealer to change the wheels so the wheels will be unused.
Therefore there will be some very keenly priced brand new wheels for some lucky person out there!!!!

ok i think the black monza II's are nicer then the bbs wheels, but seeing one drive past you make you 1st think that "oh look matie has lost all his hub caps!, black wheels! only downfall imo, but lovelly to look at stationary granted.

Thanks for the comments Doc - back now but knackered

My Edition 30 Spec.
Diamond Black
3-Door
Manual
Sat Nav
Front Centre Arm Rest
I-Pod connection
Multifunction Steering Wheel
Nasty Pescara Alloys
Cruise Control
Xenon Headlights
Luxury Pack 1
Winter Pack
Rear tinted windows
Highline MFA
Front and Rear Speaker Upgrade – still wondering about this as I have read comments on this forum about the GTI door cards not being able to cope with the sound…

I am beginning to sort of regret getting the Edition 30 but I'm a mug so have to have it.  The only thing I am looking forward to is the extra 27hp   I will sorely miss the 18” Monzas and would have bought some to go on the car - not the black ones -  had it not been for the fact that I am buying some BBS 19" alloys.

I just cannot understand why VW always do this - deliver a class leading vehicle but then also disappoint on many fronts until you wonder whether you are being ripped off?  Their 'conservatism' is really beginning to p155 me off.

Additonal Aftermarket (reversible) extras

Carbon bonnet
Carbon rear hatch
Carbon skirting
Carbon anything else I can get my hands on
Quaife LSD when available
Uprated suspension – shocks and springs
ECU Re-Map after 10,000 miles
BBS 19” Air-Inside alloys

Probably take me some time to save the cash for all this – about 6 months to a year – as the road trip has really hammered my bank balance.

Yeaahhhhhhh   apologies to all current 'standard' GTI owners.

hmmm.. how do we go about getting that power through to the tarmac?  I'm not sure whether an LSD will help in stopping wheel spin... 307bhp sounds nice but if you can't use it, whats the point?

I think you'll have to appoligies to R32 owners as well (once you get going)! Mind you i think you'll be doing that with a standard car :smug: . It will be very tempting once the warranty runs out for a wee mild map - perhaps 270hp might be a nice ballance?

the guys at star performance are running a gti at 280 bhp and similar torque, they say that the traction is fine. exiting roundabouts in a viscous manner makes the front light up but driven well its a brilliant drive.

Too late i'm afraid - no camera!

The interior is much nicer in the flesh although there was a red 3 door with recaros which did make wish the 30 was specable with that - the 1/2 leather / tartan would have been the dogs - never mind what was there was great!

The car did sit quite high - deffo higher than the normal GTI so i'm guessing those pesky blocks were still in!

The pescara wheels are deffo for sale - they would look great on anyones Mk. iv!!

Great to hear cars are now into production.  Hopefully the wolfsburg factory will be giving birth to alot of ed 30s during the week - lets hope there are no malformations, missing limbs, spina bifida etc etc!!!  Hope all happens smoothly.  At least the time is now dragging ever closer. :smug:

Bought no parts as yet. I want to see the car in the flesh first.

I called the dealer that they informed me that they are building my car this week.

Also had a chance to have a look at one in the flesh. Steel grey 3-Door, DSG. It looked very well. The red stitching is just right, not like RED in some of the photos. The stitching on the wheel looks good also.

The reflex silver car looks very good above

However, I do still think the Monza IIs look a nicer wheel on the GTI. Mind you the pesci's will be easier to refurb. I mentioned to the salesman, why hadn't they put proper BBS CH's on instead. He said that VW had just got peed off with the warrenty claims on the 25 Anni.

Anybody think that the Edition 30 would have looked better on the Audi S line 18" 20 spoke wheels? ( thats a mouthful)

are you sure you have a Gen 2 ipod from circa 2002, since gen 2 has the 6 pin firewire connection.  All ipods from Gen 3 onwards (my ipod is gen 3 and dates from 2003 and has the dock connector) will work in the golf.  for those that dont know the dock connector is the wide connector used in all current ipods and is about about 24mm wide.

You're right I have the Gen 3 one too with the dock connector.  So it looks like I'm good to go.

I saw a black edition 30 in the VW Wolsey showroom and they do look ok - better than the black monza's would on that colour car. However, I still think the Monza IIs look awesome...  I will be putting silver 19" BBS Air Alloys on - a bit like the BBS CH alloys.  The pescaras will go in a box in the garage.

Finally saw a ED30 in the flesh today.

Went to Parkway Derby, where they have a 3dr Black DSG model.

Next to it is a Blue R32 and opposite side is a Steel Grey GTi.

Well the wheels on the ED30 are way better than the R32 offering, the only thing that made the R32 stand out between the bunch is its colour shame the ED30 was not in this, but the ED30 looked way better than a std GTi, the front lip and colour coded parts, even in black make it look a more price worthy car.

The half leather is great too, and the stiching just nice, really sets off a very black 'Germanic' interior.

Have to say the wheels on the ED30 have really grown on me now, and I can say I have yet o see one photo of the car that does it justice in the flesh. Plus the pesscarras really make it stand out as a special.

Glad I've seen this today as its pretty much the spec we have ordeded too, so roll on March.

What HA54SYM says...I saw the Aberdeen dealer's showroom car today...I was a little worried at some of the comments from other people about the wheels, seats, stitching etc

No need to worry - the Edition 30 looks fantastic in the metal, and I love the Pescara wheels...looked fantastic with the sun glinting off them...I'd forgotten quite how comfortable the GTI seats are as well, so I'm really looking forward to mine arriving now

Some pics...

Nice photos there phope.  I agree with you both (phope and HA54SYM) - when i saw the black gti in flesh, the wheels felt spot on; and the changes to the car, although subtle, also look spot on - not ott.  Found some more pics of one in steel grey - looks really slick:

Hi, New Forum member ,recently ordered an E30 in Pearl Black, still undecided about which alloys as although i have been reading with interest everyones comments I still prefeer the Monza 2's or the BBS CH wheels.
Great to see all photos on forum as wont get my E30 until March.
If anyone gets a picture of an E30 with 18" Monzas it would be good to see.

Will be letting my boringly reliable A4 2.5 TDi Sport go after 3 yrs and returning to a GTI.A4 has been a fantastic car but looking forward to my E30.

I actually agree - if it were a black car the black wheels wouldn't suit and the Pescaras are just the job - can't think of a more work intensive combination though - all that cleaning!

Something that does stike me is how high these cars sit - i think i need to see pictures of a car that has been used to see if the suspesion settles - surely not all these cars are still on blocks!!! If the cars do indeed sit that high i think i'll be investing in a wee 20-25mm lowering job!

Hi there,

I ordered an Edition 30 in Jan and now have to suffer the agonising wait till April for it to arrive.

5 door (family in tow)
DSG
Reflex silver
Ipod prep in centre armrest
Rear tints from B pillar

I've read all the reviews, scoured the internet, hassled my dealer for tech info, and generally turned into a bit of an Ed30 nutter :nerd:

Did I mention I can't wait?

Hi Hurdy,

Yeah same here.....time going very slow at the moment

Very interested in the rear window tints.....dealer fitting those ?

Just waiting for the company to sort the finance out and insurance cert to be sent over....then its all systems go

Only options I have are the MF steering wheel, 6 CD changer thing, centre armrest.

Wonder how long I will be able to last until 20mm drop in height and 300Bhp re-map !!!!!

Hi Daz,

Rear window tints are a factory option £165 and one I couldn't overlook. I thought about aftermarket flim tints for my current car but saw other cars with scratch marks on the film and it put me off somewhat. Factory fit tinted glass looks the nuts on most cars and gives the car just that little bit of a cool visual twist for not a lot of cash.

I too will be looking for a re-map and most likely a brake upgrade (RS4 or Porsche comes to mind)

Unfortunately my drive is a bit like the north face of the Eiger and there are concrete speed ramps in either direction on my road so a drop is out for now although a full set of adjustable H&R s wouldn't go amiss for track days

Yes

I would have liked full tints on all the side windows, unfortunately it upsets the safety bods who actually set a limit on the darkness of the tints forward of the B pillar and so you can only get the darker tint rear of the B pillar(dark smoke tint includes the rear window too)

It isn't possible to remove the tints as it is not a film tint, the windows themselves are tinted.

I chose the tints for looks and for the fact that the guy you've just shot past in the standard GTI can't see the smug look on your face as you flip him the finger     :smug:

Just checked this out :

R32 rides a full 5mm lower than a GTi / Edition 30

So if possible a 15 - 20mm drop would be nice but no more than that

You guys with 19's on order....you gonna be ok for clearance ? Especially if you decide to lower it

I will reserve my thoughts on the tinted glass....I may get mine fitted with it on its 1st service not sure yet.

Due to pick it up Thursday / Friday

My R32, which is the one used previously as comparison, was fitted with tints after i received it. I did not have much of a choice with colour, it was near enough limo black, chrome or brown!

The black looked ok when i saw it, but is a little dark for me now its on the car!

Im on the fence here between van look or not. I had 5 Imprezas and as we all know, the imports came with tints from B pillar back, so i am kinda used to it!

My only draw back if your concidering tints, bit of a twit at night reversing - cant see a bloody thing! Good job i got parking sensors!!

Look great from inside and should we ever get any sun over here, they do look good!

I would opt for lighter on the sides but keep the back the same, stop all those nosey twits staring at traffic lights!

Also, its brilliant for defusing the tailgaters at night with their bright lights on.

1st impressions :

Very solid, great ride and a really short throw on the gearbox

Feels very torquey and lively compared to my MK4 R32

Looks are great, and to be honest I will be sticking with wheels - they look great

Interior is nice, seat are awesome

Exhaust note is nice and raspy....

Overall the car feels more 'urgent' and alive than the R32

As for tuning goes, I think a mild remap to 270 would be just about right

Kin snowing at the moment, so will do pics sometime over the weekend

Then the wait for the 1st of March!
Just got to sell my Mk IV.

The dealer mentioned that they had sold their allocation and were not getting anymore. The other order would not be arriving until May!

Hi, just picked up my Edition 30 today in Tornado Red, 3 door, arm rest and 6 disc CD player. The car looks fantastic and is amazing to drive. You will not be disappointed. I didn't get the chance to spec mine as it was a pre-order via my local dealer.....I was just lucky enough to get in quick and buy it. They are a classic!!!!

How long are you all finding it takes between the build and delivery?

My dealer says about seven weeks, but that seems a lot to me.

Build for mine is week 8 (19th to 25th Feb), so, by their estimate they are saying collection in week 15 ((9th to 15th April)

Would this be about right?

Ordered mine last week, signed on the dotted line on Saturday.

Big Thank you to VW Bolton  for all the running around they did to find one!

I could have had many red one's but I wanted black with 5 doors (I do have kids and the 3 door is awful for every day use)

Ed 30
5 Door
Pearl Black
Ipod + Arm Rest
Tinted Windows

It was built last week (Week 6) so not sure when it will turn up!

This car was going to be a seven seater!!! Thankfully convinced the other half that we can wait for an S-MAX and pay way less than the prices at the moment, in the meantime, the GTI should hold it's money!

Isn't it funny how we men (myself included!), can convince the other half into a B road blaster instead of some "adequate" form of transport. It works all the time. If you are trying to convince your other half, just follow the following formula:-

It has 5 doors love and plenty of space inside so the kids will be comfy!
It has a five star NCAP rating so will be a very safe place to be!
If you like love, it comes in an automatic, so it will be easy for you to drive in all that school run traffic!
It's a limited edition model so will hold it's price better than that "£**!" MPV you were looking at!

And the sure fire winner:-

I know you look gorgeous darling and just think of the looks you'll get turning up anywhere in a lovely looking car like this!

The fact that it's a top quality motor that you can have a good blast in and is the DB's and a future classic is something you can keep to yourself

Hi Chatty,

£400 was all the dealer asked for.  They've been very good to me so far and offered a good deal on trade-in for my Mark IV GTI PD150.  However, I've been having my car serviced there for a while, so they know me reasonably well.  How much deposit did you have to put down?
Title: Re: Official GTi Edition 30 'Ordered' Club

Hi Hully - I put down 1000, and someone else at the same dealership put down 1500.

I put a £250 deposit on my ed30 and they gave me a very good price for my 1 year old focus st3.
Had to give them my focus last week so I could get feb cap book price for it,but now got the money for my st sitting in my high interst account until June/July when my ed30 arrives.
Another question is when I was going to order cruise control as an option, salesman said dont because they can retro fit it in workshop for £150 savin £120 over factory option.
They just replace indicator stalk and program it into car.has anyone else been told this??????????

One dealer tried that with me. They wanted my car at the beginning of Apr to put on their forecourt and to give me just one of their courtesy cars, with me insuring it.  I told them to poke off .  Luckily the dealer I'm getting my Ed30 from have no problems taking my Mk IV GTI PD150 in when I take delivery of the Ed30 in May.  They've even guaranteed the price for my Mk IV.

I'm a bit  about the cruise though, so will be taking this up with the dealer when I go in on Fri and borrow their Ed30 demo for the day.  Can't wait.

This car ROCKS...got a better chance to drive it tonight and even in it's running in state. the engine is really responsive...more so than the TT 225 I traded in and the ordinary GTI I test drove not so long ago

Can't wait to put a few more miles on it, to let me open it up

Amazing how many cars move over for a white car with xenons...must think it's the coppers coming!

Hi Nathan,

Went for Reflex Silver as I've got the same colour on my Mk IV an I've been very impressed that it hides dirt and stone chips well, while still looking rather .  What about yourself?

Hi

I went for Red.3dr. Xenons, Lux pack 1, RDC 500 and Highline.

I agree silver hides a lot and is a colour that you will always sell on easy(not that you will want to )

Can't wait to get it now, just hate waiting!

Report on mine,

Picked it up Sunday from the dealer.

Pulled up in our p/x and the demo ED30 pulled up just after I got out, silver manual model.

To my utter suprise was the noise of the car, I'd never heard an ED30 run, and this one has got a few k's on the clock, very nice and turbo sounding, in a conservative way.

So went through all the crap money bit, and outside to the car, it was peeing it down, so didn't get a great chance to look at bodywork, which I don't like.

Anyway first off, Xennons a re awesome, worth every penny of £725 and would never buy car without them again.

Car pulls nice, but feels very tight everywhere, it had 9 miles on clock so should do I guess.

The interior is really nice, and seats very comfy.

Dry day today means had chance to incpect body, slight deep scratch on front bonnet, looks like been nudged up to or something fell on it, dealer says will sort next week, not overly worried but needs attention.

Slight mark on one of the wheels, from lashing / ratchet straps in transport, again nothing major.

Otherwise, don't know why people, slate the ED30, looks mint with full bosy colour and deep splitter, even though it does catch on our drive!, wheels look just right, nice off silver and really suit car.

It gives whole car that slightly different look above normal GTi and in black can blend in a little, just what I wanted for the mrs, as it doesn't attract a massive amount of attention. Its really a look twice car.

Hard thing now, is going to be deciding what to do with it, we promised we would change cars regular now, so as not too loose too much cash each change but its going to be hard to fill another slot with a car like this, it really does shout class, in a way a Focus / Astra / Civic / Seat could never do. S3 maybe?

The only way in black that looks diff to normal GTi is the wheels, put monza wheels on and i wouldnt know unless i sat in it and saw the fabric of the seat any difference. To the majority of passes by, a GTi  always attracts attention, you will learn this if this is your 1st mk 5 GTi.

Week six car picked up tonight (6th March)
Arrived at the dealers last Friday

only done 25 miles (well 18 as it had 7 on it already!)

Out of interest I didn't part ex a car but got the following

£305 discount
Free Supaguard (bodywork only, not interior)
Free USB Memory stick, Golf GT logo (only 64mb but better than a kick in the teeth)

Overall very happy with the effort the dealer put in, and the car doesn't have any marks on it all.

Ipod works well, and the tinted windows look great!

The exhaust note and Turbo whistle are GREAT!!

Discount through saying I had a budget!

The Dealer was eager to sell me a car over another dealer and so I left to them to find the spec of car I wanted the soonest. The Car I have now had the extras I was willing to pay for but we met half way!

Budget 23K
Actual car 5 door, metallic, Tinted Rears and Ipod Total Cost £23,610

Paid £23,305.

BMX, looking through other posts, yes yours should turn up the end of this week! Maybe worth a ring, I rang this time last week to be told the ship had landed!

Have a 3dr black ED30 on order but not sure if I should ask about changing for a candy white one, not sure the black one looks different enough

I think white is the nuts. Definitley without shaddow of a doubt THE car colour to have at the moment.

In two minds as to order my next car in white - need to confirm colour combo this week.

My only worry is, with white having been so un-popular for so many years, is this resurgence just a flash in the pan. everyone agrees white cars are 'of the moment' but how long will it last? I remember several years ago when peugeot were pioneers of that Orangey Gold colour, and everyone was buying into it. Then I remember the ar5e crashed out of that fad, and everyone was left with very 'unfashionable' coloured cars that the owners came to despise.

I'm not laying out nearly £38k on a car that could, potentially, be un unsellable monster that I no longer like after 6 months of ownership (I keep my cars three years).

It's a brave man that goes for white, but, right now, I applaud his choice, because I love it.

That ED30 in white is beautiful, simple as.

Personally as a White soon to be owner (next Tuesday - horay!), I justified it on the grounds that

- It looks awesome
- White is a classic Golf colour - in my mind MkI/MkIIs always came in white and looked best in white.  As this is a special edition it only makes sense to keep up that traditiom

Plus white is a different thing to that yellowy-gold anyway.  There will always be some kind of market for white cars.

Make the call - you know it makes sense!

Indeed - However (playing devils advocate) so was red black and silver.
IMO British cars come in green, French Blue, Red Italian and German.........Silver.
Call me a traditionalist but i've stuck it my pipe and am smokin it!

each to their own!! How boring it would be if we all had the same colour. There are pro's and cons for all colours but we chose what WE like. I'm sure everyone who has bought a car has thought other colours are "nice" but we bought the colour we wanted. In an ideal world we'd probably have one in every colour available! (except the orangy - gold!)

Now my son, well his (when he gets it for his Birthday) will be Black....mmm....maybe I had something to do with that!

Out of interest, funny how the Flip paint effect dissapeared too! Maybe the fact some of the colours looked like primer in certain light had something to do with it eh?

Put in my proper order for a Ed30 today!  Gone for the steel grey.  My last car was a white Integra which I found had to keep clean, and my previous 2 Civics before that were both black - which were also very difficult to keep clean!  I thought the grey was nice and would show off the red grille well - as well as being easier to clean.
To be honest I think a well polished clean black car looks the best in any model - but with British weather (especially north Scotland) it doesnt stay clean for long!

Anyway... Steel Grey, Xenon Lights, Center Armrest and Highline Computer.  Maybe tempted to phone and ask for folding mirrors too though.  Didnt bother with iPod adapter or upgraded stereos as I'm going to tear the standard one out and put in the new Alpine iDA-X001 I have on order.

Looking at 8-12 weeks till delivery... so until then its a work van for me!  I might even consider buying an old Corsa or something as a run around until my new baby is ready

Xenons
rear parking sensor
Sunroof
Highline comp

Didn't go for the £1,800 sat nav option but bought the same unit private for £430 (brand new)

Ordered last week due in another 9 weeks (but desperate and can't wait)

Thanks for the post below with the Candy White picture, I ordered one without seeing a white golf anywhere, absolutley spot on, there's not many cars you can order in white but the GTI certainley wears it well.

I agree with everything you stated.

However, if you base the colour, purely on your own "must have" desire, then it is a no-brainer.  But if you are constantly worring "will it still be desireable at resale time" then go for the more conservative colours, such as Silver.

So after a couple of days of playing around (gently of course...following all the good advice of running in on here!), it is really awesome.

Some more plus points for those who are wavering

- The drive is effortless and the DSG version is superb.  I discovered you can engage the tiptronic just by pulling the paddles without shfting the stick over, and if you dont use them for a while it automatically drops back into automatic.  I found myself doing 70 down the Embankment last night and it felt like I was doing 30 the ride was so smooth (just like driving in PGR on the Xbox!)

- Male friends like the styling of interior at night (cool red submarine lights) and performance characteristics.  I took a few out in it and pushed it to 3500prm and a little over.  Even at that level it is clear what kind of punch this thing has.  I am driving to Scotland and back (from London) at Easter just to complete the running in in one go...

- Female friends like the colour and interior styling particularly the retro cloth.  And suddenly girls are much more interested in buying you drinks and waiting for a lift home   And you can scare them by putting your foot down at the lights.

- The features (IPod prep, multifunction computer (although they missed off teh steering wheel  ), xenons, reversing beeper) are all seamlessly integrated.

- The styling is unaffected by 5 doors, and I personally think it looks better than 3.

It is awesome.  I really can't fault it.  Its the best thing I have ever bought.  What an amazing machine.

Have they got it on priority ship?

Mine was week 8 build and I will be picking it up on Wednesday   , so there shouldn't be any excuse for a later delivery date than mine.

I got the excuse that they have been having problems with delivery up to getting them on the ship. Once they are classed as "on ship" there should only about a week to collection from the dealer if you push.

It was tagged for priority shipping two weeks ago, and believe me have been phoning dealer nearly every other day, spoke to the manager at my dealers in the week and he says he is as much in the dark as i am as to its whereabouts, thought it could possibly be shipped yesterday, but no word. Am going on holiday on Tuesday for two weeks so hopefully it will be here when i get back, at least it won't have to spend two weeks parked at Heathrow which i was'nt to happy about anyway, and it will be something to look forward to on my return.

I got mine on Saturday gone and have found _EVERY_ excuse to go out and drive it ( to my wife's great amusement )

3 door
Manual
Grey
Multi-function wheel
Ipod prep and armrest
Highline computer
Rear parking sensors
Luxury pack

I would have probably have ordered Xenons too, but I actually got the one the garage had ordered for itself... I only had a 2 week wait.

As you can see by my login in name, I am still waiting, ordered on the 5th March, was told when ordered that I should get delivery end of April to 1st week of May, then told that there has been a 4 week delay. Spoke to dealer today said still 'awaiting ship' could only guestimate another 10 days but said it might take longer as it is not an exact science!!!

Mine was ordered 3rd March and today my status is 'on the boat' according to the dealer!  Hopefully that means I'll get it in the next 10 days

I got a call from the dealer today said my status in now 'on ship' said it should arrive at the dealership next wed/thur and I should be able to pick it up Fri/Sat said will call me Monday with a definate date as need my insurance docs a day before.

This is going to be the longest week of my life !!!

Have you thought about the MFSW?  Having added it late to my list of options, I'm glad I did now as i use it all the time. The MFSW comes with the Highline Computer so you could take that off your list.

Just placed a deposit for an Edition 30.

3 door DSG, Candy white.
-xenons
-cruise
-ipod/armrest
-multifunction wheel|highline|paddles

When I saw the Pescaras in the flesh, they looked brilliant, and as for the colour...the picture at the bottom helped :-). Be honest now. Who really wouldn't bother washing their nice new GTI if it was grey not white? If you're going to have to wash it anyway, choose a colour where you can tell the difference once you've finished! (Just kidding, like the grey and black too, though red was out)

that was mine

It's now for sale at Aberdeen Audi for £21,995 (I believe) which seems strange to me, as the trade in figure I got was not much less - guess it's how they are working the various trade in figures and the sale of the TT through their books.

March 2007, candy white, bi-xenons, highline, ipod prep and armrest, parking sensors - would be a great car for someone

what price did you get for it phope?

Hard to say, as it was part of a combined trade in with a 3 year old TT roadster against a TT of £34k

I declined the initial offer of £20k, and they came back and reduced the price to change by a further £1800, so I got the equivalent of £21,800. Some of that may be a reduction in the cost of the TT, I guess. Quite how they are putting the various sums through the books, I'm not sure

Phope - tell me you smoke like a chimney or that your old car kept going into reverse unexpectedly and cheer me up!

Interesting to hear that the sale price isn't much different to the trade-in though... I'll bear it in mind when we sell ours 4 months after we receive it ;-)

 nah, just a very understanding bank manager (me) and a car mad fiance

The GTI seems to have shifted tonight from Audi to their sister VW garage, and price is now £21,490??!!

It's now on VW used car search as well

It all boils down to the "cost to change" in the end. Discount or higher trade in = same.

So hows the TT?

Pick my steel grey ED30 up in a couple of hours, I've been quite calm up till now but can feel the excitement building, only problem is I've got to drive from Bolton to Scarborough to get it, at least it will put some miles on it so I can get it remapped sooner

Phope - I just noticed that your old white car doesn't have DSG.

I feel a bit better now :-)

Feeling good again about sinking my well earned money into VAT, I mean a new car.
